Pros and Cons of Open Access Publishing

Concerns about Gold OA

Another concern about green OA publishing is that it can be difficult to track down all of the versions of a paper that have been archived in different repositories. This can make it difficult for readers to find the latest version of a paper.
Traditional Publishing
Traditional publishing is the oldest and most common method of publishing research papers. In traditional publishing, the author submits their paper to a journal editor for review. If the paper is accepted for publication, the journal will publish the paper and sell it to subscribers.
Traditional journals are typically funded through a combination of subscription fees and advertising revenue. Authors are not charged to publish their papers in traditional journals, but they may need to pay for page charges or other fees.
